Pampanga bags 18 golds in CLARAA meet
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The province of Pampanga ranked sixth in the recently-concluded Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLARAA) meet.
T h e Kapampangan student athletes bagged 18 gold, 23 silver, and 28 bronze medals in the overall tally.
Held from August 24 to 28, the CLARAA was participated in by students from different private and public schools across the region.*
It is the first face to face sports event held in the region since the Covid19 pandemic.
The 2023 CLARAA was topped by the province of Bulacan which bagged 104 gold, 68 silver and 55 bronze medals.
Also in the top five were Bataan province (34 gold, 47 silver, 49 bronze), Olongapo City (32 gold, 34 silver, 43 bronze), Nueva Ecija (24 gold ,15 silver, 25 bronze), and
Tarlac (23 gold, 33 silver, 45 bronze).
Among the sports played during the event were archery, arnis, athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, billiards, boxing, c h ess, dancesport, football, futsal, gymnastics, paragames, sepak takraw, softball, swimming, tennis, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, wrestling, and wushu.
Winners in each game will represent the region in Pre-National Qualifying Meet set on July 29.
