National University Clark inaugurated

CLARK FREEPORT -- The blessing and inauguration of NU Clark was led by SM Supermalls President Steven T. Tan on September 22 at SM City Clark’s Tech Hub 8.

“The opening of NU Clark represents Hans Sy’s and SM's unwavering commitment to pursuing knowledge for a better society,” Tan said during his speech.

Tan added that NU Clark has exceeded its target number of enrolled senior high school and college students by more than 200 percent

“This is the largest so far in the history of NU's campuses. With this, we are very optimistic that NU Clark will be able to grow and expand in the coming years,” he added.

Also present during the ribbon-cutting ceremonies were Clark Development Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Agnes Devanadera; President and Chief Executive Officer of NU Philippines Dr. Renato Carlos Ermita Jr.; Mabalacat City Administrator Frank Madlangbayan; Catholic Priest Gregorio G, Vega; Pampanga Provincial Board Members Fritzie David-Dizon and Cherry Manalo; NU Vice President for Admin Services Jose Nilo Ocampo; and Executive Director for NU Clark, Dr. Arnel Diego.

NU Clark is the 10th campus of the National University and the second campus in Central Luzon. It boasts state-of-the-art facilities, vibrant student life, and a dynamic learning environment.

The school administration said the new campus aims to revolutionize higher education by offering a wide range of undergraduate programs across various disciplines. Students can now pursue their academic aspirations in fields such as business, engineering, architecture, psychology, communication, humanities, social sciences, and more.

To ensure a conducive learning environment, NU Clark said it is equipped with cutting-edge laboratories with state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.

These laboratories will provide students hands-on experience and practical skills.

The comprehensive libraries at NU Clark will serve as intellectual hubs, offering vast resources to support research, learning, and innovation.

NU Clark said it offers a range of scholarships and financial aid programs.

These initiatives aim to make quality education accessible to a diverse group of students, the school said.

“In the words of Nelson Mandela, who said, ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.’And indeed, at NU, we are equipping our future generations with a powerful weapon- Education that works,” Tan said. #
