What are the duties and responsibilities of DepEd teachers?

The presumption is that they have the responsibility of developing effective and strategic instruction, evaluating the children's extent of learning, addressing them individual needs to learn and ensuring an environment conducive for learning.

ARTICLE VI – THE TEACHER AND HIGHER AUTHORITIES IN THE PROFESSIONS. Section 1. Every teacher shall make it his duties to make an honest effort to understand and support the legitimate policies of the school and the administration regardless of personal feeling or private opinion and shall faithfully carry them out.

Ethics Involving Students

A teacher has a duty to encourage students to learn to the best of their abilities, and also to teach social values such as respect for self and others, integrity, responsibility, cooperation, loyalty and honesty. Teachers must follow school rules and enforce all rules equally.

The teacher should consider themselves as a facilitator, guide and colearner in the education process. It's the teacher's responsibility to encourage students to take charge of their learning journey. This happens when they engage, rather than suppress, students' natural curiosity.
